Classic

Rule: Renju, Board size: 15

• The tentative Black plays all the first three moves (two moves for black and one move for white i.e. he decides which of the 26 patterns that will be used).
• The tentative White decides which of the players that will play as Black and as White in the game (White has the right to swap sides).
• The now decided player being White makes the 4th move in an optional unoccupied intersection.
• Black (the player with the black stones) has to make two different proposals for 5th stone. The proposals have to be unequal in all respects White has the right to choose one of the two proposals from Black to become the 5th move of the game. The time for Black goes till he has given two correct proposals. For White the time goes till he has accepted one of the proposals and till he has made the 6th move which can be made in any unoccupied intersection.
• With the 5th move the special opening rules for the moves are ended.
• The game continues with the renju rule.

Yamaguchi

Rule: Renju, Board size: 15

• The first player (tentative black) puts one of the 26 openings and declares how many 5th moves will be offered in that game.
• The next player (tentative white) has a right to swap.
• The white player puts the 4th move anywhere on the board.
• The black player puts as many 5th moves on the board as it was declared before (symmetrical moves not allowed).
• The white player chooses one 5th from these offerings and plays the 6th move.
• The game continues with the renju rule.

Soosyrv-8

Rule: Renju, Board size: 15

• The first player puts one of the 26 openings.
• The other player has the right to swap.
• The white player puts the 4th move anywhere on board and declares whether there will be N (N≤8) fifth moves offered in the game.
• The other player has a right to swap.
• The black player puts as many 5th moves on the board as it was declared before. The fifth moves can not be symmetrical.
• The white player chooses one 5th from these offerings and plays the 6th move.
• The game continues with the renju rule.

Taraguchi-10

• The black player puts the first move in the center of the board.
• The other player may swap.
• The white player will put the 2nd move within 3x3 central square.

Lianhuan Renju

Rule: Renju, Board size: 15

The opening of a game (when there are at most 4 stones on the board), when it is your turn to move, you have two ways of choice, either one move of turn to color or couple moves (a black and a white). If you make one move then your opponent has to turn to another color stone. If you make couple moves, your opponent can swap right (choice color). From 6th move the Black and White will be finalize, until end the game.

• The opening stage is made up of the first 6 moves.
• During the opening stage, black and white make moves alternately.
• For each move, the current player has two choices:

  • Making one move anywhere on the board.
  • Making two continuous moves on the board, and the other player has the right to swap.

• Since the 6th move, the game continues with the renju rule.

Lianhuan Gomoku

Rule: Gomoku, Board size: 15

• The white player will put the 4th move anywhere on the board.

• The game continues with the free gomoku rule.

Classic moved

Rule: Renju, Board size: 15

• The first stone is decided by two players. Both players propose X and Y coordinates, without knowing each other's decisions before making their proposals:

  • Player 1 proposes the X coordinate (1-H, 2-I, 3-J, 4-K, 5-L).
  • Player 2 proposes the Y coordinate (1-8, 2-9, 3-10, 4-11, 5-12).

• The following steps are the same as the Classic rule, with the only difference being that the first stone is moved to the position decided in Step 1.

Taraguchi-10 Pass

Rule: Renju, Board size: 15

• The black player puts the first move in the center of the board.
• The other player may swap.
• The white player will put the 2nd move within 3x3 central square.
• The other player may swap.
• The black player will put the 3rd move within 5x5 central square.
• The other player may swap.
• The white player will put the 4th move within 7x7 central square.
• The choice 1 (after the 4th move):

  • The other player may swap.
  • The black player will put the 5th move within 9x9 central square.
  • The other player may swap.
  • The white player plays the 6th move anywhere on board.

• The choice 2 (after the 4th move):

If the game ends up with a draw, the first player who passes will get a win, and white will win when no player passes.
